Richard’s attorney looked ill.
The mistress looked ready to disappear.

Judge Halpern continued reviewing documents for nearly twenty minutes.

Nobody dared.
Eventually he looked up.
“The court will reserve final judgment pending review of the trust structure and related corporate instruments.”
The attorney beside Richard visibly relaxed.
Too soon.
The judge wasn’t finished.
“But based upon the evidence presented today, Article Twelve appears enforceable on its face.”
The relief vanished instantly.
The courtroom erupted into whispers.
