Invisible.
The irony wasn’t lost on me.
Because invisibility had always been his weapon.
Tonight it became his punishment.
An hour later he finally approached me.
The ballroom had mostly returned to normal.
Music played.
People laughed.
Life moved forward.
He stopped beside me.
For several seconds neither of us spoke.
Then he said quietly:
