If You Live Alone, Groceries Aren’t Always Cheaper

Unpopular opinion:

If you live alone, buying groceries is not always cheaper than just going out to eat.

I know.

That sentence sounds completely backwards.

We’ve been told our entire lives that eating at home is the responsible option.

Restaurants are expensive.

Groceries are cheap.

Cooking at home saves money.

Meal prepping saves money.

Buying ingredients in bulk saves money.

And if you have a family, I absolutely understand why that math can work.
