The Infidelity Clause

Miriam wasn’t finished.

She produced one final document.

“The trust structure was created by Charles Vale after his own son’s affair nearly fractured the company. He wanted future generations protected from personal misconduct.”

Judge Halpern studied the trust agreement.

Then he looked directly at Richard.

“You signed this document.”

“I didn’t read every page.”

The judge raised an eyebrow.

“That is rarely a successful legal defense.”

A few people laughed.

Richard did not.

The billionaire who controlled boardrooms across the world suddenly looked very small.

Then came the ruling.

I still remember every word.

“The court finds that the defendant materially violated Article Twelve of the prenuptial agreement.”

Richard closed his eyes.
