The black duffel bag hit the porch with a heavy thud.

Its zipper burst open.

Papers exploded across the wooden boards.

Photographs.

Folders.

Documents.

Dozens of them.

For one strange second, nobody moved.

Then Sheriff Daniels stepped forward.

He bent down.
