The Shiny Side of Aluminum Foil Has Been Confusing Me for Years

I have apparently been using aluminum foil my entire life without ever knowing there was even supposed to be a “right” side.

I always put the shiny side facing the food.

No real reason.

I think that’s just how I saw it done growing up, so I kept doing it.

Nobody ever explained it.
